The Accelerators + The Chromosomes

Biography:
Ox Accelerator on Vocals and Bass, Erik A.C on Drums, Marlon Stringslayer and Sander Wander on Guitars and Vocals.

Fronted by Ox Accelerator, the band brings you their own brand of high energy 100% pure punk rock inspired by classics such as The Ramones, The Dwarves, Rancid and Screeching Weasel. With an average age of, at that time, only 15 years old the Accelerators were a young and inexperienced band. Nevertheless they immediately made a serious dent in the regional punk rock scene. The band played over 15 shows within half a year in the Rotterdam area and proceeded to record it’s debut EP: Hit the Gas Motherfucker! 6 years, 5 releases and 250 shows in 10 different countries later

Accelerators are now releasing their long due debut album. Recorded at the Excess Studios in hometown Rotterdam but mixed by Justin Perkins from the Smart Studios in the US the album is set to be released on Stardumb Records and SquintyJoe Records in March 2009. The album features 12 songs in 30 minutes. *** The record also features guest appearances by Danny Vapid (Screeching Weasel/Riverdales) and Kepi Ghoulie (Groovie Ghoulies) An intrinsic drive to perfect the sound and show of the band is one of the things that set the band apart. Accelerators are not your typical punk rock party project, however they sure do like to party. Tours with band such as The Leftovers (US) are highlights in the band’s recent history.

Accelerators are a live band in it’s most essential form and set out to play as many shows in front of as many people as possible. Over the past years Accelerators have shared the stage with bands such as: Rise Against, Teenage Bottlerocket, Groovie Ghoulies, The Apers, Dr Frank, Heideroosjes, Peter Pan Speedrock, The Casualties, The Leftovers, The Business, Manges and many more of course. Accelerators have played smoky bars, big halls and outdoor festivals including : 013, Watt, Vera, Waterfront, Melkweg, Ekko, Romein, WurlitzerBallroom (ES), Wild at Heart (BE), Skaletta (IT), Rotterdam Rumble, RosRock, Metropolis, Rebellion Amsterdam, Rebellion Blackpool FACTS: • Released five E.P.’s • Played over 250 shows in over ten countries • Were the 2nd punk rock band ever to make it to Morocco (The Exploited were first, beat our bastards to it). • Are playing 6 (instore) shows in one day on 14 March 2009

I Chromosomes racchiudono nel loro sound un misto di melodia e aggressività senza eccedere né in un senso né in un altro. Frutto di un mix di influenze che vanno dai ramones ai beach boys al rock più duro e “chitarroso” . I C. nascono come trio nella primavera del 93 a Livorno con uno spirito esclusivamente punk alla Ramones e cantato in inglese. Ben presto con l’aggiunta di un altro chitarrista il suono va infarcendosi di fraseggi e melodie più accattivanti. Pian piano che si infittisce l’attività live, grazie anche alla pubblicazione di svariati singoli per diverse etichette indipendenti tra cui la spagnola Notomorrow Rec vera leader europea del movimento punkrock di fine anni 90 e partecipando ad alcune compilation internazionali con alcuni tra i gruppi più famosi della scena punkrock/hc mondiale (no time to panic cd/comp, con Nofx, Squirtgun, Gigantor ecc), i C. non si fanno sfuggire l’occasione di suonare all’estero (Svizzera, Austria , Olanda) e nel 2001 pubblicano il loro primo Cd “...more time to relax!” per la Seastars Records, che grazie anche alle distribuizoni internazionali (una su tutte la interpunk.com, l'internet store più importante del mondo a livello underground) arriva in tutto il globo, ovunque riscuotendo ottimi successi. A questo punto i C. decidono di dedicarsi al cantato in italiano. I nuovi testi, sicuramente più personali e intimisti dei precedenti, danno un tocco più maturo alla nuova produzione aprendo nuove strade nella ricerca artistica del quartetto livornese. Nell'aprile 2006 vede la luce il nuovo cd “Chromoterapia” per la neonata etichetta Mabel Records che i C. promosso in giro per l'Italia. Nel settembre 2006 i C. tornano ad essere un powertrio con l'abbandono di Dado, il secondo chitarrista. Nel 2009 esce “The Bud Spencer & Terence Hill experience” un tributo alle musiche dei film della coppia prodotto, suonato e arrangiato insieme a un'altra storica band punk italiana, gli spezzini Manges, un singolo insieme ai Tarjas, band punkrock proveniente dalla Finlandia, su Killer Records, etichetta anch'essa finlandese e una raccolta in cd dei vecchi singoli e di canzoni inedite del periodo 1993-2003 edita dall'etichetta giapponese Waterslide records. Al momento il trio sta producendo nuovo materiale che andrà a far parte del prossimo lavoro discografico che uscirà nel 2010.
